Entry 6

Do long distance relationships work? I don't know. I guess the answer would be 'it depends'. And I speculate even further when I say 'it depends on a whole lot of things'. Sometimes some of these things are outside the control of one or both of the parties in the relationship. The saying " Absence makes the heart grow fonder" is one of those things that are only universally true in Disney's DreamWorks studios. "Out of sight, out of mind" rings truer. But of course, it all depends.

Why do I write about this in the first place? Well for one, I am listening to Shangri las' Remember. You know, the one with the verse that goes:
" Whatever happened to,
The boy that I once knew.
The boy who said, he'd true!
Oh no, oh no, oh no no no no no"

Essentially, the song is about a girl ,whose lover went to sea and two years later, sent her a letter saying he's found someone else, and her grief over losing he whom she had loved dearly. And It reemphasized to me how important regular communication is between us and people we value...and of course the need for a sincere commitment.
Secondly, well, I had to sympathize with a fellow intern yesterday. He just found out he had been conned by his "girlfriend". Their "relationship" was just eight months old, with about half of that time spent apart on internship (they started at school, just like many other bozos). I really feel sorry for him, he seems like a really nice guy.
Better luck next time Amigo!

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why Under-25 dating is a bad idea. Adios!
